Washington : Indian-origin American MP Shri Thanedar has strongly condemned Hamas, labeling them as a barbaric terrorist organization. His remarks came in the wake of a series of rocket attacks launched by Hamas in southern Israel on October 7. In response to this unprovoked aggression, the Israeli defense forces took decisive action, leading to a heightened conflict in the region.

The Threat of Hamas

Addressing a gathering of influential Americans of Indian origin at America’s Capitol Hill, Shri Thanedar left no room for ambiguity when he stated, “Hamas is not an extremist group. Hamas is not an opposition movement. Those people are simply barbaric terrorists, and there’s no other way to describe them.

A Call for Action

Speaking at an event organized by ‘Hindu Action’ in support of Israel, Shri Thanedar emphasized that the time has come for more than just pushing Hamas back. He argued that allowing them to regroup and return would only result in further atrocities. To achieve lasting peace, it is imperative to eliminate Hamas entirely. “We need to wipe them out from the face of the earth,” he asserted, adding that ending their military operations is a crucial step in achieving this goal.

Liberating Palestine

Shri Thanedar’s concern for the people of Palestine is evident as he called for the liberation of the two million Palestinians living in Gaza. These individuals deserve to be free from the oppressive control of terrorist organizations like Hamas. The quest for peace and justice in the region necessitates freeing them from the cycle of violence and fear.

A United Front for Protection

In a joint declaration, participants representing various faiths came together to urge the US Congress to increase protection for Hindu, Sikh, Jewish, Hazara, and Yazidi communities on college campuses. The call for comprehensive policies reflects the shared commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of these communities.
