Eight crores being spent on beautification of Naldehra Golf glade : Virbhadra Singh

INVC-NEWSINVC NEWS New Delhi, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that a sum of rupees eight crore was being spent on beautification of Naldehra Golf glade and renovation of cottages for which the tender process was underway. He said that this golf ground was one of the best golf ground in the country amidst the pine trees near Shimla and the credit goes to scions of the Koti Estate, under whose aegis the Koti Golf tournament started way back since 1999. The Chief Minister also praised the efforts put in by Koti Gharana to promote the game. He said that Naldehra Golf ground had been witness of numerous prestigious tournaments like Dr. Y.S. Parmar Memorial Invitational Golf Tournament, Chalet-Naldehra Golf Tournament, HPGA Golf Tournament and Old Cottonian Golf Tournament. The Chief Minister distributed prizes to the local boys in two different categories i.e. 0-4 and 5-8. In category 0-4 Harisaran was declared the winner whereas Balkrishan and Naresh stood second and third respectively. In category 5-8, Rajender was given first prize while Kesar Singh and Rajeev remained second and third respectively. Amongst the members, Arujn Chanana and Arjun Lall were declared first and second respectively in category 0-8 while in category 9-13, Baljeet Singh was declared the winner and Sunil Bhardwaj as runner up. In category 14-18, Pem Tshering was declared winner and Neeraj Sood as runner up. The Best Card Gross prize was bagged by Arjun Lall, Closest to Pin, Aditya Sood. Chairperson, H.P. Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section Smt. Pratibha Singh also distributed prizes. MLA Anirudh Singh honoured the Chief Minister on the occasion and presented a memento insignia of Koti Estate on it. Brig. (Retd.) B.S. Kanwar earlier welcomed the Chief Minister and detailed about the tournament. Vice Chairman, HPTDC Harish Janaratha, Chief Secretary V.C. Pharka, Additional Chief Secretary Narender Chauhan, Managing Director, HPTDC, Dinesh Malhotra, Deputy Commissioner Rohan Thakur were also present on the occasion amongst others.
