Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the new building of Swami Purnanand Degree College of Technical Education at Purnanand Degree College ,Muni-ki-Reti, Tehri District on Thursday. Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that education is the base of development of the society and the country and the developed countries have focused their attention primarily on education for their development. He said that his government has given preference to education and emphasis is being laid on providing quality education. He further said that it is our efforts to incorporate modern technology in education. He said that special attention is being paid to make the students technically qualified and ITI’s are teaching industry specific subjects in their curriculum.
He said that to bring quality in education, even the teachers are being trained. He said that education plays an important role in the overall development of the society. The Chief Minister said that instead of increasing the number of educational institutions, his focus is on making the students technologically qualified. Chief Minister said that for better educational system, schools with less than ten students are being merged. He expected that everyone including the teachers should contribute in the spread of better education.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat also assured to complete the Janki bridge (Three land bridge) being constructed on river Ganga at Muni-ki-Reti and the incomplete Purnanand Sports Stadium at the earliest.
On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Subodh Uniyal said that technical Institutes should prepared their educational plans keeping in view the economy of the hilly areas so that even students belonging to economically weaker section can get technical education.
Tehri District Magistrate Sonika, SSP Dr. Yoginder Singh Rawat, Swami Purnanand Niketan Samiti Covenor Guru Prasad Paramhans and President Mukesh Kumar Gupta and other were present.
