Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, said that ‘Sankalp’ programme would be organised in all government and private schools in the State on March 5, 2016. During the programme, all students and teachers would resolve to maintain brotherhood and goodwill.
The Education Minister, who was presiding over a meeting of district-level officers of the Education Department here, directed to spread the message of ‘Haryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek’ across the State under the ‘Sankalp’ programme.
He said that the National Flag would be hoisted during the programme and students and teachers would take the pledge to work towards maintaining brotherhood, cooperation and harmonious relations.
Mr. Sharma said that directions had been issued to maintain quality of education from the beginning of the new academic session in April. He also urged officers to work towards starting ‘Pravesh Utsav’ for admissions and encouraging drop-outs to go back to school.
Reiterating the State Government’s commitment towards curbing cheating during examinations in the schools, he said that the help of newly-elected representatives of the Panchayati Raj Institutions and other responsible people should be taken for spreading awareness among the people.
The Minister directed officers to link all scholarships being offered to students with Aadhaar card within the prescribed time limit to bring in transparency in the system.
He said that the Education Department had contributed significantly in effectively implementing the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ programme. Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, had appreciated the efforts of the Department for organising programmes in schools during his radio programme ‘Mann ki Baat’. He said that education and protection of girl child were among the priorities of the State Government.
Additional Chief Secretary, School Education, Mrs. Keshni Anand Arora, said that all important works of the Education Department should be started from March onwards in order to achieve the target of quality education.
