DIRECTOR LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR OFFICE CUM RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX OF CBI THIRUVANANTHAPURAM BRANCH
INVC NEWS New Delhi, Anil Sinha, Director CBI, today laid the foundation stone of Office-cum-Residential complex of its Thiruvananthapuram Branch at Muttathara, Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala). During his address, Sh. Anil Sinha highlighted the motto of CBI (Integrity, Impartiality and Industry) in the functioning of the organization and stressed the endeavour of CBI to fight against crime and corruption. He has emphasized the requirement of welfare measures for the CBI personnel. The Thiruvananthapuram Branch of CBI started functioning in 1995 in a rented building with jurisdiction over the State of Kerala & Union Territory of Lakshadweep. Since inception, the Government of Kerala and the High Court of Kerala have entrusted a large number of complicated and sensitive cases to CBI, Thiruvananthapuram. The construction of CBI Office cum Residential complex over 3 acres of land in Muttathara, Thiruvananthapuram has been entrusted to National Building Construction Corporation Ltd (a Government of India Enterprises) for an amount of Rs.21.86 crores (approx). The building has been designed with Green Building Features, the GRIHA Norms, energy/power saving features along with rain water harvesting & water treatment plant and renewable energy integration. The office complex is proposed to have state of the art work stations, interrogation room, library, Central Solar Power System and other amenities etc. The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by senior officers, including State Police Chief & other Senior officials of Kerala; Director (Commercial) NBCC; Senior officials of CBI and State Government organizations.
