Dilli Gharana celebrates International Women’s Day
INVC NEWS New Delhi, Dilli Gharana celebrates International Women’s Day by launching The Wajood Repertory on 4th March, 2016 at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi. We at Dilli Gharana strongly stand for the rights of woman and also with the fight and struggle that goes on in our country to make our women strong and empowered. The event was inaugurated by Shri Sandeep Kumar, Minister for Women & Child Development, Govt of NCT of Delhi and was attended by the who’s who of the Music industry. A new award called Women- the Builders of Society Samman was instituted In this they felicitated some distinguished women who have contributed in their own ways towards building and nurturing the Society. This years ‘Samman’ was conferred on -Richa Aniruddha (TV), Rajeshwari Kapri (Education-Govt School), Ritu Chopra (Social Work), Erum Khan (Working for acid attack victims, Women's Safety, Education) and Smt Anshul Bansal (Education). The Wajood Repertory aims at bringing together different art forms on the platform of Dilli Gharana. The unifying thread that binds them together would be the issues and concerns pertaining to women in our society. The evening brought together music and story-telling with ever relevant theme of sensitizing towards women concerns. The evening witnessed two entirely different art forms offering the audience highly engaging, an unusual spectacle with different expertise. Empowerment was the central theme of the evening.
