Differently –abled Delhi lad aces JEE Advanced Exam with 23 All -India rank

Suffering from cerebal palsy since his childhood, Avanish Kumar Singh never let his disability bar his path to success. Today he stands proud bagging an all India rank of 23 in physically challenged category in JEE Advance Examination.Cerebral palsy (CP) is permanent movement disorder that appears in early childhood with symptoms like poor coordination, stiff muscles, weak muscles, and tremors. Cerebral palsy is caused by abnormal development or damage to the parts of the brain that control movement, balance, and posture.

“I was confident that I would achieve success. I followed my study schedule meticulously and never skipped classes. I would attribute my success to Narayana Institute where I took coaching. Their special doubt clearing sessions were really helpful,” says Avanish.

“I am proud of my son. He has shown that hard work and talent knows no distinctions. I am indebted to Narayana Institute which guided him at every step,” says Avanish’s father, whose is a government employee.

Organized by IIT Madras, JEE Advanced examination was held on 21 May 2017.Approximately 2.21 lakh candidates had registered and appeared for Joint Entrance Test (JEE) Advanced Examination. Candidates, who cleared the JEE Main or the first phase of the two-phase exams, were eligible to sit for the JEE Advanced.

The performance of a candidate in JEE Advanced forms the basis for admission to the bachelor’s, integrated Master’s and dual degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian School of Mines (ISM).

There are over 11,000 seats available in the 23 IITs across the country.
