Desh Bhagat University celebrates birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

Desh Bhagat University & Desh Bhagat Group of Institutes celebrated the 116th birthday of great revolutionary and freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose with lot of fervor and devotion in SCO: 181-182, Sec-8C, Chandigarh. Function was started with observing the 2 minute’s silence to pay tributes to Lance Naik Hemraj & Sudhakar Singh, who were killed near the LoC by Pakistani troops on 8, Jan 2013. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest of the function Brid. (Retd.) Saranjit S. Sahney, said that we can never forget the contribution and sacrifice made by our great Indian nationalist leader Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose for getting us freedom. He further added that the community who forgets its past gets ruined. We must follow the path shown by the great martyr and try to build India of their dreams.  Welcoming the Chief Guest and other guests, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University & Chairman of Desh Bhagat Group & Desh Bhagat Radio, Dr. Zora Singh said that he himself is a son of freedom fighter S. Lal Singh who was a member of ‘Azad Hind Fauz’ founded by Netaji Subhash Chandera Bose. The name of this group was kept Desh Bhagat Group of  Institutes to commemorate the sacrifices of the patriots and martyrs of India. Hailing Bose as a “great son of India who fought for its liberation till the last moment of his life”, Dr Singh said, “He gave the clarion call and laid the basic foundation about the responsibilities and duties of independent India ten years before the actual liberation.” On this occasion, Dr Singh also conveyed his condolences to the family of Lance Naik Hemraj & Sudhakar Singh, who were killed near the LoC by Pakistani troops. He further said,”I pray to the Almighty Lord to give courage, strength and support to their familes. Pro Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University Mrs Tajinder Kaur , while thanking the honoured guests paid glowing tributes to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. She added that the Desh Bhagat Group has been organizing such programmes from time to time with a view to enlighten the students about the lives of such martyrs. The present younger generation is the future of our nation and hence they need to know about our history of past. He called Netaji the real icon of India, particularly to the younger generation. On this occasion, Administrators, Officials, Staff of Desh Bhagat Group and Member of Market committee Sec-8C, Chandigarh were present.
