Engineering Department, Chandigarh Administration today during a demolition drive demolished three unauthorized structures towards Regulator End of Sukhna Lake.
Three unauthorized religious structures had come up on the government land towards regulator and, thereby creating hindrance to the developmental activities. Also the noise produced by the microphones being used there was disturbing the birds. One structure was on the UT land while other 2 were on Haryana side, Chandigarh Administration along with HUDA, carried out a joint drive to demolish the structures. 40 police personnel, 50 laborers and machinery consisting of 1 JCB and 3 tippers were deployed to carry out the operation.
Another similar operation was carried out at Vikas Nagar Mauli Jagra to remove one religious structure on Govt. land. Another religious structure was demolished on the road through Colony no. 5 going towards Mohali.
