If a building gets damaged or a bridge collapses often the people curse the engineer and his qualification comes to a stake with a doubt on the Institution from where he passed out but what about a doctor when a patient dies due to negligence and nothing can be done because the Muna bhai comes out to be a pass out graduate of a substandard Medical college who sought affiliations by bribing the Council Chiefs. All the Councils should be dissoluted for transparent medical education in the Country jointly stated in  Dr.P.S.Ranu Member of the Central Council of Homoeopathy and Vaidya Jagjit Singh Member of Central Council of Indian System of Medicine  in a joint press statement.

Appreciating the action of the CBI and Condemning the instance of accepting rupees two crores bribe by Dr.Ketan Desai Chairman of Medical Council of India  from a Punjab based Medical college in lieu of granting affiliation in spite of deficient norms. These representative Members of Central Councils from Punjab said that its not only the Medical Council alone but even in Homoeopathy and Council of Indian System of Medicine the things are not good. In the recent past NDA Govt. 51 Members of Parliaments signed a joint memorandum and requested the then Prime Minister for a probe as bribes were accepted for recognitions and affiliations of Homoeopathic Medical colleges in the country. A Commisison of Inquiry was constituted headed by Justice Usha Mehra a Retired Judge of the Delhi High Court who prima-facie confirmed that there were irregularities and entrusted  the matter to CBI. The CBI registered a case under corruption Act and after inquiry the chargesheet has been filed in the Court and all the accused including the President and his Executive Members are on bails and facing trails. Interestingly these undertrails are still holding their respective offices and playing a friendly match. Even they have hired advocates for their defense on the cost of the Government exchequers.

Even the Chairman of the Central Council of Indian Medicine is under scanner of the Chief Vigilance Commission regarding embezzlement of Govt. funds on the complaints filed against him by a sitting member of the Council Vaidya Jagjit Singh where he has been accused of taking false TA bills amounting to lakhs of rupees from the Council funds. These Members of the Central Councils requested the Prime Minister and the Health Minister to dissolute all these Medical Councils for a transparent Medical educational system in the Country and all these accused should not be allowed to enter the Council offices in the Public interest and judicial interest till the cases are pending against them as they have a heavy clout and can influence the witnesses and hamper the proceedings by tampering the records.
