Two new medical colleges will be opened in the state. This was decided by the state cabinet at its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. The new medical colleges will be opened at Datia and Khandwa. Both will have capacity of 100 students each. District hospitals at Datia and Khandwa will also be expanded to 500-bed capacity. For this, Rs. 158 crore 50 lakh was sanctioned for Datia and Rs. 172 crore 21 lakh for Khandwa.
CC TVs in big cities
On lines of country’s metropolitan cities, CC TVs will be installed in Madhya Pradesh’s 62 big towns The cabinet sanctioned establishment of CC TV surveillance system for security of sensitive places in big towns under 12th Five-Year Plan (2012-17) at a cost of Rs. 429 crore 24 lakh. These cities include Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Dewas, Sagar, Bina, Khandwa, Omkareshwar, Katni, Singrauli, Sehore, Salkanpur, Khagone, Maheshwar, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Bhind, Malanpur, Satna, Maihar, Burhanpur, Rewa, Balaghat, Chhatarpur, Khajuraho, Raisen, Mandideep, Sanchi, Bhim Bethka, Bhojpur, Tikamgarh, Orchha, Guna, Dhar, Pithampur, Mandu, Seoni, Morena, Shivpuri, Chhindwara, Anuppur, Amarkantak, Vidisha, Datia, Betul, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Hoshangabad, Umaria, Bandhavgarh, Damoh, Shajapur, Neemuch, Gandhi Sagar Dam, Pannad, Rajgarh, Jhabua, Ashok Nagar, Chanderi, Shahdol and Ujjain.
26 new ITIs
The cabinet sanctioned establishment of 26 new government ITIs in unserviced development blocks. These include Banda of Sagar, Barwara under Barhi tahsil of Katni, Majhauli in Sidhi, Sardarpur, Gandhwani, Bakaner (Umarwan) and Dahi in Dhar, Thandla, Meghnagar and Rama in Jhabua, Sondwa in Alirajpur, Bhikangaon and Gogawan in Khargone, Sendhwa, Rajpur, Theerkri and Pansemal in Barwani, Bajna in Ratlam, Karahal in Sheopur, Pali No. 1 Gohparu in Shahdol district, Bhim Nagar and Shahpur in Betul, Harrai in Chhindwara, Bichhiya in Mandla, Birsa in Balaghat and Bhabhra’s Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar in Alirajpur distirct.
Minimum one or 2 trades are being started in the first year 2015-16 as per availability of rented buildings. More trades will be introduced next year and 6 trades will be started in these ITIs when they would have their own buildings in year 2017-18. Estimated cost of Rs. 9 crore 27 lakh was sanctioned for ITI’s main building, one 60-seater boy/girls hostel, residence of principal, other facilities, rain water harvesting, fire fighting equipment and development works.
