Mukhyamantri Cup -2016 : Cup brought sports talent of the rural areas

Shivraj-Singh-Chouhan-INVC-INVC NEWS Bhopal, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged students and players to bring laurel to the state in sports beside studies. Shri Chouhan mentioned that fee for poor talented children to pursue studies at premium institutes will be borne by the state government. Also, employment will be given in the government sector if they receive Vikram Award.

CM Shri Chouhan was inaugurating the state level Mukhkyamantri Cup-2016 at T.T. Nagar stadium here today. It may be mentioned that Mukhyamantri Cup has been organized since last year. This is the second Mukhyamantri Cup being held from today. A total of 1200 Boys and Girls are participating in the competition. Kabaddi, Volleyball, Athletics, Wrestling, Football and Karate competition of Boys and Girls are being held. A cash reward of Rs. One lakh, Rs. 75 thousand and Rs. 50 thousand is given to the team of Boys and Girls on achieving first, second and third position respectively in team events. Similarly in individual games, winners are honoured with a cash reward of Rs. 10 thousand, Rs. 7 thousand and Rs. 5 thousand.

CM Shri Chouhan extended best wishes to the participants for their bright future. Shri Chouhan mentioned that the sportspersons of the state have potential and perseverance, they can win Olympic medals. Only devotion and hard work is required. He further said that after the Mukhyamantri Cup, MLA Cup will also be organized.

Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Smt. Yashodhara Raje Scindia said that the Mukhyamantri Cup has brought sports talent of the rural areas in limelight. She mentioned that many international players have emerged from the sports academies of the state and they have brought glory to the state. Smt. Scindia informed that division level competitions of selected teams were organized to enable winners to participate in the State level Mukhyamantri Cup.

CM Shri Chouhan took salute of the march- past of the division wise players. Secretary Sports Shri Sachin Sinha, Director Sports Shri Upendra Jain and Sports admirers were present on the occasion.
