Saudi  : In a joint statement with Pakistan, Saudi Arabia appeared to support India’s stance on Jammu and Kashmir. Saudi urged India and Pakistan to resolve their outstanding issues bilaterally. Following the meeting between Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the two countries issued a joint statement.

Pakistan’s newly elected PM Sharif reached Saudi Arabia as part of his first foreign tour. However, Saudi Arabia has shocked him regarding the Kashmir issue.

The Crown Prince has described Kashmir as a bilateral issue between India and Pakistan. Not only this, he has said that India and Pakistan will have to resolve this issue through dialogue. This stance of the Crown Prince was taken in the meeting with Shahbaz on 7 April. A joint statement has come after the talks.

Till now Pakistan has been harping on the issue of referendum in the United Nations on Kashmir issue. But, India supports bilateral talks on this issue.
