Congress leaders and workers will gherao the PM’s residence due to rising inflation
The Congress has announced that its leaders and workers will gherao the PM’s residence on August 5 due to rising inflation. The Congress has also asked its MPs, MLAs to workers working in villages and small towns to join the protest.
In the state capital, the Congress has planned to gherao the Raj Bhavan against inflation and rising prices. During this protest, MLAs, MNCs, former MPs and senior leaders in the states have been asked to join the gherao of Raj Bhavan.
On the other hand, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs have been asked to protest against inflation and unemployment in the name of ‘Chalo Rashtrapati Bhavan’. There is a plan to gherao the PM’s residence from the party’s side in New Delhi. During this demonstration, along with the Congress Working Committee, all senior leaders will be present. Let us tell you that on Friday itself, there were reports that there could be a discussion on inflation in the Lok Sabha on Monday. According to information received from sources, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will answer the discussion. This news came when the opposition had been demanding a discussion on inflation for a long time. Due to this, there was continuous uproar in the Parliament for two weeks and the House was not running smoothly.
This was also because more than one and a half dozen MPs of the opposition have been suspended due to the uproar and sloganeering over the discussion on the issue of inflation. Opposition leaders have demanded withdrawal of the suspension of the members. On the issue of inflation, the opposition has taken an aggressive stand and disrupted the proceedings of Parliament on other issues including price hike.
According to the government, the prices of essential items of food and drink have come down. This claim has been made by the government by releasing six months’ data of various common necessities including onions, edible oil, vegetable ghee, tomatoes and tea. The government said that due to its efforts, the prices of essential food items are continuously coming down. PLC/GT
