Targeting the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress will start the Bharat Jodo Yatra from October 2. This journey will start from Kanyakumari and will go till Kashmir. Congress will cover about 12 states during this visit.

During this journey, a distance of 3,500 km will be covered. This yatra will last for about 5 to 6 months. For the first time, the proposal was read in Hindi in Congress’s Chintan Shivir. Earlier, the proposal was read either in English or in both Hindi and English languages. The resolution was read in Hindi only in 1950 during Nehru’s era. But this time the entire proposal was read in Hindi.

According to a senior Congress leader, the goal of the Congress is behind reading the resolution in Hindi, about 250 Lok Sabha seats in northern India. For the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress is making a strategy to focus on these seats. According to a senior Congress leader, for the first time in 30-40 years, the Congress is organizing a national-level yatra.

Prior to this, Rajiv Gandhi had visited India in 1990. For this, the party will run Jan Jagran Abhiyan from June 15 to October 2, which will later be linked with the Bharat Jodo Yatra. It is yet to be decided where the rally and meeting will be held during the Yatra. PLC &GT
