Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed to complete land acquisition and compensation distribution works of projects sanctioned under National Highways Agency within time-limit. The Chief Minister was reviewing works of National Highways Agency here today. PWD Minister Shri Sartaj Singh and Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa were also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister made work-wise review of road projects. He directed that special attention should be paid to quality and completion of works within time-limit. These roads should be repaired on priority. Four-lane conversion work of Bametha-Khajuraho road should be undertaken on priority for facilitating tourists in reaching Khajuraho from Jhansi. As an alternative road, State Road Development Corporation is constructing Jhansi to Khajuraho road via Prithvipur-Jatara-Tikamgarh.
The meeting was informed that 2597 km long roads are under different phases of construction in the state under National Highways Agency of which works of 1460 km roads have been completed. Secretaries to CM Shri Vivek Agrawal and Shri Hari Ranjan Rao, Secretary Energy Shri I.P.C. Kesari and officers of PWD and National Highways Agency were present on the occasion.
