Mumbai  : The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a report on complaints received under the Lokpal schemes. According to this report, the number of complaints registered with RBI under Lokpal schemes increased by more than 68 percent to 7.03 lakh in the financial year 2022-23. These complaints are related to mobile/electronic banking, loan, ATM/debit card, credit card, pension payment, These were related to other matters including banking. According to the annual report of Lokpal Scheme 2022-23, Lokpal Scheme (RBI-IOS) was launched by the Reserve Bank of India. This report is the first stand-alone report under the year 2021 that clarifies the activities of RBI Ombudsman (ORBIO), Centralized Receipt and 22 offices.

Under RB-IOS, 2021, the number of complaints increased significantly. A total of 7,03,544 complaints were received in ORBIO and CRPC in the year 2022-23. This represents an increase of 68.24 per cent due to intense public awareness. The largest share of complaints (1,96,635 complaints) are against banks, which is 83.78 per cent of the complaints received by ORBIO. 2,34,690 complaints were disposed of by ORBIO and 4,68,854 complaints were disposed of in CRPC. The RBI said the complaints disposed in ORBIO have an average turnaround time (TAT) of 33 days during 2022-23, which is There has been a significant improvement from 44 days during 2021-22.
