CM himachal appeals to suspend construction activities to save water

INVC,, Shimla,, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister has appealed people to suspend all construction activities, which required water for next three months keeping in view the rising temperature so that water saved is used for drinking purposes. He was addressing an impressive gathering at Kandaghat in district Solan, today after dedicating Mini Secretariat building constructed at a cost of Rs. 6.62 crore and laying-foundation stones of Gram Panchayat Sirinagar, Bisha, Mahi, Kawarag and Dwavsha group of villages lift drinking water supply scheme. The scheme is estimated to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 471.84 lakh and will benefit about 4,000 population of the area. He also performed foundation stone of new Govt. Senior Secondary School, Kandaghat building to be constructed at a cost Rs. 70 lakh today. Chief Minister said that best marketing infrastructure had been created in the State to facilitate the growers to sell their produce at remunerative prices in the State. Prof. Dhumal said that Jaypee University of Information Technology was first of its kind in the Country, which had cent-percent placement facility. He said this University was opened during earlier tenure of the present Government. He said that similar higher educational institutions of par excellence were being opened in the State. He stressed the importance of vocational education and said that this would enable the youth to settle down in their lives. He said that former Prime Minister Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee was the source of inspiration to make Himachal Pradesh an Education Hub. He said that State Government was committed to realize the dream of Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee by opening educational institutes of standard in the State. Prof. Dhumal said that in the age of cut throat competition students needed to work hard to keep pace with the global trends and compete at the international level. He said that hard work was key to success and students need to work for achieving excellence in the career pursuits. He said that the State Government had involved private players to impart world-class educational facilities within the State by opening private Universities with academic excellence. Shri Ishwar Dass Dhiman, Education Minister complimented residents of district Solan who had been instrumental in motivating others to make their areas model in different sectors. He said that the highest of Rs. 2,567 crore as budgetary provision had been made for education sector during current financial year which was about 17 percent of total budget of the State. He said that Rs. 297 crore had been spent over infrastructure development during past two years to create academic environment. He said that computer education was introduced by BJP Government in its earlier terms. He said that 12000 teachers had been recruited during past two years.
