Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has organised ‘Live Budget Viewing Session’ at Hotel K International, Bhopal here today.The event was chaired by Mr C P Sharma, Chairman CII Bhopal Zonal Council, he compliments the Finance Minister and said that budget has looked at critical issues like inflation, job creation and inclusive growth of common man. Many CII suggestions such as reducing investment allowance, changing definition of MSME, setting up a start-up fund, and overhaul of the subsidy regime have found mention in the Budget, he added.
Convener of CII MP Panel for Economic Affairs and Taxation Mr Pradeep Karambelkar welcomed all the guests and put forward the Pre Budget memorandum submitted by CII. He welcomed various provisions created by Finance Minister for Infrastructure development, creating 100 smart cities, rural development & increase of exemption limit of 50,000 for tax payers.
Mr Pradeep Karambelkar, Convener of CII MP Panel for Economic Affairs and Taxation says “ The Union Budget 2014-15 presented today by the Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley has effectively captured the mind of the people by addressing their hopes and aspirations. It has defined a roadmap for ‘New Vibrant India’. Exhibiting an appetite for change the Union Budget provides an enabling support to realise the true potential of Indian economy. In a clear move to accomplish fiscal consolidation and economic recovery the Union Budget has made many real announcements”.
Mr Amarjeet Singh Khalsa, Group Director, IPER Bhopal said that it is a great start from one and half month old government but could have been better. He added that current budget is seen as an action plan not a vision document. He explained how provision of 5000 crore in warehousing would lead to increase in consumption and subsequently reduce inflation. He however said that Direct Tax Code could have been pushed by govt.
