Chaturmas 2022: Know what to do and what not to do in Chaturmas
According to the Panchang, Chaturmas starts from the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month. This time Chaturmas is starting from 10th July. Which will be till 4th November.
From this day Lord Vishnu goes into Nidra Yoga, which means he sleeps for four months, hence the start of Chaturmas. During these months Shravan, Bhadrapada, Ashwin, Kartik, all auspicious functions like marriage, head shaving, inauguration etc. are stopped. It is believed that doing auspicious work during Chaturmas gives bad omen and unfavorable results. It brings difficulties in people’s life. Manglik work is prohibited in Chaturmas. So let’s know what those jobs are.
Chaturmas 2022 taboo work
It is forbidden to do some work during Chaturmas but, religious functions continue. This time is considered best for worship, fasting etc. It is said that during this period a person can start any kind of fast, those who start fasting at this time get double the result.
1) People should not lie to anyone during Chaturmas.
2) Marriage ceremony, naming of the child, inauguration, head shaving, janeu etc. all auspicious works are prohibited in these 4 months.
3) These days one should sleep on the ground instead of the bed, by doing this Lord Surya is pleased.
4) Milk, oil, brinjal, leafy vegetables, salty or spicy food, meat, alcohol etc. should not be consumed during this fast.
5) Worshiping Tulsi daily during these four months ends poverty.
6) During this time, it is forbidden to perform all the 16 rites related to Hindu religion like marriage, caste, home-pravesh, mundan. PLC/GT
