Chaturmas 2022: Know why all auspicious works are prohibited

According to the Panchang, the beginning of Chaumasa i.e. Chaturmas starts from the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month. Along with this, according to the Hindu calendar, no auspicious work is done in these four months of Shravan, Bhadrapada, Ashwin Karthik.

According to the Vedas and Puranas, Lord Vishnu goes into sleep for four months from Devshayani Ekadashi falling in the Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month. In such a situation, in his place, Lord Shiva takes care of every work of creation. For this reason, it is forbidden to do any kind of auspicious work during these four months.

Chaturmas end: 04 November, the day Friday, on Devuthani Ekadashi

Venus will be a hindrance
On Devuthani Ekadashi, auspicious work will start as soon as the deities awaken, this date is on November 4, but even after this, marriages will not be able to take place. The reason for this will be the setting of Venus on October 1, in such a situation, auspicious work will not be done till November 23. Even after this, the noise of the band, Baaja Baraat will be heard.

Do it in Chatumas
During the period of four months, no auspicious work can be done due to the deities being in the sleeping process. In such a situation, citizens should think about their East. Attention should be paid to fasting. If possible, food should also be taken at one time. Along with reciting Gita, Hanuman Chalisa, one should participate in sankirtana.
