To commemorate the 72nd Anniversary of Independence Day, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairperson, Shri Naresh Kumar unfurled the National Flag in the premises of NDMC headquarter at Palika Kendra in New Delhi at a simple and well attended function today.
While paying his rich tributes in the memory of the great martyrs’ of freedom moment of the Nation, and personnels of Armed and Paramilitary Forces, who had laid their lives for the cause of protecting and safe guard the boundaries of the nation from the enemies, the Chairperson said that we should take pledge to discharge our duties with a sense of dedication and patriotism for the all round development and progress of the nation. And it will be a real homage to the great martyrs, he added.
Exhorting the team NDMC, he said that it was the need of hour to adopt latest technology while implementing the Smart initiatives in New Delhi area in order to provide the better services and facilities to the citizens.
Aiming at the first position in the next Swachhta Survekshan by NDMC, he said that the team NDMC is capable and competent to get it provided, the special efforts and attention might be made for implementing the initiatives in terms of Swachh Bharat Mission.
The Chairman had called upon the residents and visitors of New Delhi area to avail the facilities of Smart Infrastructure extended by the Council and extend their cooperation and support to the civic body for maintaining and watch and guard it as a national asset.
The Security and Fire Personnel of the Council gave guard of honour to the Chairperson and NDMC schools children recited patriotic songs on the occasion and sweets were distributed amongst the children on this occasion.
The 2000 National flags had been displayed at the electric poles and 24 locations along road sides decorated with the tri-colour floral boards in New Delhi area by Civic Body.
Besides, Secretary, NDMC, Senior Officers, teachers, students and other officials of the various departments were also participated in Independence Day celebration.
