A nationwide movement called “India Against Corruption (IAC)” has been started by Anna Hazare, Dr. Kiran Bedi, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Swami Agnivesh, Most Reverend Vincent M Concessao Archbishop of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Devinder Sharma, Sunita Godara, Mallika Sarabhai and many others to persuade government to enact this Bill. The entire country will fast on coming “16th August” with Anna Hazare who is demanding the implementation of Jan Lok Pal Bill for the effective actions on corruption, corrupt people and corrupt system. Coordinators in all across India have been appointed who are representing IAC movement along with various individuals, NGO’s and organization to spread the awareness about JANLOKPAL.
In the same regard, Rahul Bhartiya, Coordinator- India Against Corruption for Chandigarh Tricity alongwith Chandigarh IAC team and other NGO’s will be sitting on Chain fast to support “Anna Hazarey” for enactment of Janlokpal Bill on 16th August in Sector-25, Rally Ground, Chandigarh. We had applied for permission from D.C. Chandigarh long time back but no revert has been received so far. The purpose of this Chain Fast is to make people aware about Janlokpal, to demonstrate the strength of People’s support with Anna Hazarey in Chandigarh and expectation of association of more and more individuals, organizations and NGO’s to strengthen this movement and make it a big success. Our whole activity will be peaceful and in interest of society and nation.
We will keep on doing peaceful demonstrations and other activities in future too so that common man may connect with right people in right movement. We are also thankful to IAC team, other organizations and NGO’s who have been supporting this cause. Here, the movement & cause is big, not any name and we are working with same thoughts in our mind. We expect overwhelming response from the people of Chandigarh who will be turning up in Sec-25 to support and make this event a big success.
