The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, accompanied by GOC, Trishakti Corps, visited the Air Force Station and forward areas in North Bengal on April 8 and 9, 2023, to review the progress of infrastructure development and operational & logistics preparedness in the region. The purpose of the visit was to assess the preparedness of the Indian Army in the Northern borders in Sikkim, and to boost the morale of the troops deployed in the remote areas.
Review of Infrastructure Development and Operational Preparedness
During the visit, General Anil Chauhan reviewed the progress of infrastructure development in the area, including roads, bridges, and communication networks. He commended the formation for ensuring force preservation while also reaching out to assist the civil administration and local population in times of natural disasters like the recent avalanche in East Sikkim.
