The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered one more case against 11 accused and unknown others in compliance of the orders of Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta, passed in connection with WPA (P) 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148, 149 & 169 of 2021, dated 19.08.2021 and taken over the investigation of the case related to death of Shri Janmenjoy Dalai, earlier registered at Police Station Marisdah, District Purba Medinipur (West Bengal) vide FIR No. 71/2021 dated 30.03.2021.

It was alleged that the accused and unknown others abducted the victim on 30.03.2021 while he was returning home from Kanthi. It was further alleged that the accused beat him badly with lathi, iron rod, sharp weapons etc and caused deadly wounds all over his body. It was also alleged that he was then left dead by the accused at an empty place.

CBI has so far registered 50 cases in the matter related to violence and other offences in West Bengal. Investigation is continuing.
