New Delhi, The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case on a complaint from Northern Railway against then Chief Medial Superintendent; then ACMS in charge stores; then Senior DMO; then Pharmacist and then Hospital Attendent, all working in Railway Divisional Hospital, Northern Railway, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) U/s 120-B, 409, 420, 468, 471 of IPC and section 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (d) of P.C.Act 1988 for causing an alleged loss of Rs.2.94 crore (approx) to Government Exchequer. It was alleged in the complaint that number of irregularities were noticed during internal vigilance check at Railway Divisional Hospital, Northern Railway, Lucknow relating to procurement of anti-cancer medicines on local purchase basis within financial powers of Chief Medical Superintendent, Lucknow during the period 2012-2014, and found alleged fraudulent purchases of Rs.2.94 crore (approx). Searches are being conducted today at 13 places in Lucknow and 02 places in Raebareilly(both in Uttar Pradesh) including official/residential premises of accused persons as well as 03 private suppliers based at Lucknow. Searches have so far revealed recovery of cash of more than Rs.1.6 crore (approx); papers of property & investment from the premises of then Senior DMO. Several other incriminating documents have also been recovered from other locations. Searches are continuing.
