The Central Bureau of Investigation has today filed a chargesheet against a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha; an employee of Delhi based private Air Travels Company; then Office Superintendent(Traffic), Air India and a private person U/s 120-B of IPC r/w 420 of IPC r/w Section 511, 471of IPC & Section 15 r/w Section 13(1)(d) r/w Section 13(2) of PC Act, 1988 and U/s 201 of IPC before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi for causing an alleged loss to government exchequer.
A case was registered on 31.10.2013 against a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha; a Delhi based private Air Travels Company & an employee of said company; then Customer Service Agent (CSA) of a private company, Delhi and other unknown public servants of Air India& private persons on the allegations of claiming reimbursement by said MP from Rajya Sabha Secretariat on the basis of forged air tickets and boarding passes in order to cheat the government.
During investigation, it was found that the said MP in conspiracy with other persons allegedly used forged e-tickets and fake boarding passes to defraud Rajya Sabha to the tune of Rs 23,71,460/- (approx) as TA/DA reimbursement without performing the actual journey.
After thorough investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet.
The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian Law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.
