CBI ARRESTS AN OFFICIAL OF GARHWAL REGIMENTAL CENTRE FOR ACCEPTING A BRIBE OF Rs. FOUR LAKH
INVC NEWS New Delhi, The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Upper Divisional Clerk working in ‘Q’ Office, Garhwal Regimental Centre, Lansdowne, District Pauri Garhwal (Uttarakhand) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 4 lakh from the complainant. A case was registered U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 against the said Clerk on a complaint. The complainant (an employee of Garhwal Regimental Centre) has alleged that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs.8 lakh (in two instalments of Rs.4 lakh each) from him in lieu of processing his pension claim. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused. Searches were conducted at the premises of accused which led to recovery of Rs 55 lakh (approx) in cash and documents related to various investments & properties. The arrested accused will be produced today in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Dehradun.
