The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Assistant Sub Inspector, posted at Janakpuri Police Station, Delhi for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.12,000/- from the complainant.
A case was registered on a complaint against ASI, Janakpuri Police Station, Delhi on the allegations of demanding bribe. It was further alleged in the complaint that there was demand of bribe of Rs.25,000/- for releasing the complainant on bail in a case registered against him in the said Police Station. It was also alleged that a sum of Rs.13,000/- was given earlier and that the accused was pressurizing the complainant to give remaining amount of bribe of Rs.12,000/-. CBI laid a trap and caught the ASI while demanding & accepting the bribe of Rs.12,000/-. Searches were conducted at the premises of accused.
The arrested accused will be produced before the Designated Court, Delhi.
