The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Assistant Divisional Engineer(South), Central Railway, Nagpur for demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.1.80 Lakh from the Complainant.
A case was registered against the Assistant Divisional Engineer (South), Central Railway, Nagpur on complaint alleging demand of bribe of Rs. 1,80,000/- for passing the bills of Complainant’s firm. It was further alleged that the said accused demanded the bribe @ 2 % of total bill of complainant’s firm to the tune of Rs. 89.55 lakh(approx), pending with him.
CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding & accepting the bribe of Rs. 1,80,000/- from the Complainant.
Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused which resulted in recovery of cash of Rs.60.62 Lakh(approx) and other incriminating documents.
The accused will be produced today before the Competent Court at Nagpur .
