CBI arrests an area manager and another official both of food corporation of india in a bribery case of Rs.50.000/-

downloadINVC NEWS New Delhi, The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Area Manager and an Assistant(Grade-I), both working in Food Corporation of India, Nabha (Punjab) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant. A case was registered U/s 120-B of IPC and section 7 of PC Act, 1988 on a complaint wherein it was alleged that 70 trucks/consignments of rice of the complainant (A rice miller) were to be checked and stacked at CWC, FCI Depot, Nabha. An Area Manager of FCI, Nabha was allegedly demanding bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant for getting his rice checked/stacked in the Depot. CBI laid a trap, wherein the Area Manager and Assistant(Grade-I) were caught while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant. Searches have been conducted at the residential premises of the accused. Both the arrested accused will be produced tomorrow in the Competent Court at Patiala(Punjab).
