The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Sub-Registrar-V(I), Defence Colony, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi and an official in the said office in a bribery case of Rs. 50,000/-.

A case was registered on complaint against Sub-Registrar-V(I), Defence Colony, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi and a staff at the said office. It was alleged that the Sub-Registrar-V(I), Defence Colony, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi was demanding bribe of Rs. 1.5 lakh from the Complainant in lieu of registering two gift deeds. It was further alleged that after negotiation the amount was reduced to Rs. 50,000/-and the Sub-Registrar agreed to accept undue advantage of Rs. 50,000/- through said staff.

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while accepting undue advantage of Rs. 50,000/- through the said staff. Searches are being conducted at the office & residential premises of both the accused.
Both the arrested accused will be produced before the Competent Court at Delhi.
