The CAT result is going to be declared on 12th January 2011. With the declaration of the result the decks are cleared for the admission to 9 IIMs and 161 Top Non IIM B-Schools. Over 2 lakh students had appeared in the online CAT-2010 exam.
Free Helpline Launched
For the CAT aspirants, Aryans Business School (ABS), A Non IIM Member of CAT 2010 group, has started free helplines on which students would get the result on Wednesday. Aspirants can call on 98762-99888 or 98765-99888 from 9 am to 4 pm and can get the result. This would be beneficial for those students who don’t have internet access or who have connectivity problem. Students have to call on these numbers with CAT Registration Number.
25000 students and 2500 seats in this region
Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, ABS said that in Chandigarh, Himachal, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana except Delhi around 25,000 students appeared in CAT. On the other hand there are approximately 2500 seats in above schools. If we look nationwide, there are around 2 lakh candidates against around 25000-30000 seats available in IIMs and Non IIMs B-Schools.
Top B-School call is a big challenge
Mr.Hridesh Madaan, Head-North, Bulls Eye said that in last 2-3 years, interview calls from IIMs and other top B-Schools has become tough as compared to previous year. There are 2 reasons to it: First, IIM started giving profile based interview calls from last year. For instance, a student got shortlisted in one of the IIMs as per his academic performance and work experience. Second, GDs has been removed from admission process. Instead Essay writing is new addition to the process which is different and difficult skill.
Students should apply in time
Mr.Akash Gautam, Trainer & Motivator for CAT Aspirants, said that students should not ignore the importance of admission process of top business schools, otherwise they would be losers. They should start applying to the B-Schools before the cutoff dates. He also said that despite of technical glitches in 2009, CAT is still an entry door to the best Business schools of the country.
