Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Trudeau are getting divorced. After 18 years of marriage, both have decided to separate. On Wednesday both announced this on social media. After this, the PM’s office also said that both have signed a legal separation agreement.
Justin and his wife Sophie have three children aged 15, 14 and 9. Trudeau is the second Prime Minister in Canada to separate from his wife while holding the post of PM. Before him, his father and former PM Pierre Trudeau separated from his wife Margaret in 1979 and the two were divorced in 1984. Justin and Sophie were married in May 2005. Justin Trudeau has publicly spoken about the importance of family many times.
