C-Vigil App is becoming quite popular
INVC NEWS Raipur, To ensure participation of techno-savvy youth and common people and to simplify the election related works, Election Commission of India has adopted modern information technology to ensure smoother execution. These news initiatives include launch of many voter friendly mobile apps , websites and helpline numbers for the convenience of citizens, election candidates and political parties, so that they may upload important documents and take necessary permissions without any problem. Among the mobile apps launched by Election Commission of India, Suvidha app, C-Vigil App and Voter helpline app are becoming quite popular. Election Commission of India has developed Suvidha app as single-window system to apply for all kinds of permission to be taken by election candidates and political parties for organizing meetings, rallies etc. Election Commission of India has given the instructions to approve applications of the candidates/parties within 24 hours of applying. Another important app of Election Commission is C-Vigil. This app can be used to send live time-stamped photos/ videos with location as evidences to report violation of model code of conduct. Any citizen can lodge complaint through this app, after which a flying squad would investigate the matter. After investigation, returning officer would redress the complaint. Another android app and a voter helpline has also been launched, which would help the citizens to locate their name on voter list, fill online form, check status of application, lodge complaint and get answer to their queries. This app also provides contact details of BLOs, EROs, District Election Officers. Voter Helpline Mobile or www.nvsp.in portal or helpline number 1950 can be used to get information related to voter list.
