Alleging favoritism on the bulldozer of the Madhya Pradesh government, the Muslim Committee is going to the High Court. They say that houses are being demolished without any process. Why is the whole family being punished for one’s mistake? The Muslim Committee has decided that they will approach the court in this matter. A Muslim cleric asked why the government was punishing the family members of those who were allegedly involved in the riots. This action has left many people homeless.
Let us inform that the state government has started a campaign against the illegal property of people who pelted stones on the procession on Ram Navami. Some Muslim leaders have alleged that after the riots, people of the society are being unfairly targeted. Their houses are being demolished without due process. Bhopal city Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadvi says that I have asked the advocates of my community about going to the High Court against this selective sabotage campaign going on in the state. We will definitely move the High Court against this unilateral campaign. Asked how many Muslim houses have been demolished in Khargone so far, he said it would be known only after the curfew is lifted.
The cleric said that the society is run by law. The person who committed the crime should be punished, not his family. If one member of the family commits some mistake then why are houses being demolished. Also said that many families have been deprived of their homes due to this campaign of the government. He also said that CCTV cameras are being installed in mosques across the state, especially in Bhopal. Violence and communal tension erupted in Khargone after a stone-pelting allegedly took place in a Ram Navami procession that originated from an area with a large Muslim population.
Nadvi had said that the CCTV footage would reveal from where the stones were thrown during such incidents. He had also said that it was completely wrong to demolish “illegal houses” of people allegedly involved in violence in Khargone. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had warned that his government would not punish anyone found involved in the riots. It had also justified the demolition of the houses of those allegedly involved in Bakhshegi and Khargone. Looking at the MP government, the BJP government in Gujarat on Friday used bulldozers to remove illegal houses in Khambhat town, where a Ram Navami procession was allegedly attacked last Sunday. PLC
