Bsf Seized Huge Quantity Of Pseudoephedrine Tablets

Assam, Action on a tipoff, on 10th July’ 2014 at about 1945 Hrs, a special joint Ops party consisting of vigilant BSF Intelligence wing, Aizawl and CID (SB) Mizoram Police apprehended one person namely Phillip Colney (39 Yrs) S/O Late Lalmuana Colney  R/O-Chhinga Veng, Aizawl (Mizoram) and recovered 32 Kgs (2,72,000 Tablets) of Pseudoephedrine worth Rs 10,88,000/- (at local market) which was wrapped in 19 black colour polythene bags and further packed in one maroon colour travelling Bag from his house. BSF spokesperson, Shri Satish Budakoti, Deputy Inspector General, HQ BSF Mizoram & Cachar Frontier, intimated that the seized Pseudoephedrine was brought from Delhi to Aizawl by road through trucks for further smuggling out into Myanmar. These tablets are heavily demanded in Myanmar to further extract 60-68% of ephedrine to manufacture into Meth Amphetamine in Myanmar. The rate of Pseudoephedrine tablet in local market of Aizawl is Rs.4/- per tablet, whereas after reaching in Myanmar it is sold at Rs.20-25 per tablet.
