In his inaugural speech DG BSF expressed his deep desire to see the pensioners/family pensioners free from any sort of pension related problems in their retired life.  He has dedicated the year 2013 as the YEAR OF JAWANS.  DG BSF reiterated his hope to settle grievances of all retirees of North East by holding similar type of pension adalat at Siliguri, for southern states people, at Bangalore and for western region, at Jodhpur in the coming months. This Pension Adalat was organised for speedy redressal of the grievances of pensioners / family pensioners of pre-2006. During this Pension Adalat, pensioners of various states like Jammu-Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Delhi attended and tried to resolve their problem on the spot. This type of pension adalat was organised for the first time in the history of BSF. This forum is providing them with a unique opportunity to solve problems of pensioners and family pensioners. More than 400 aggrieved BSF pensioner/family pensioners registered their grievances today. The pensioners from Delhi and nearby states reported along with their dear ones. After the implementation of 6th Pay commission in the year 2008, around 85,000 pension cases of pre-2006 were to be revised by PAD (Pay & Accounts Division) BSF. Out of which 55,000 pension cases have already been revised by PAD BSF till 31st March 2013.  Remaining cases could not be revised due to non availability of many vital details of pensioners.  Through this pension adalat pensioners got the opportunity to submit their papers/vital information to PAD BSF for revision of pension/family pension. It is proud to note that around 52 numbers of 1971 BSF war veterans also reported today alongwith their grievances. Their grievances were heard and redressed. DG BSF today personally handed them over the revised PPOs (Pension Payment Orders) after their cases were quickly disposed in a fast track manner. In the session more than 65 grievances other than pension were also registered by the Grievance Redressal Cell, BSF today. Broadly these cases relate to Assured Career Progression (ACPs), compassionate appointments,       CGHS     facilities at various cities across the country, one rank one pension at par with Army, Facilities for Ex-CAPFs personnel etc. Some of the Ex-BSF personnel who were retired from service under Rule-19 of BSF Rule raised their grievances to Sh Ashok Kumar, Inspector General.  They were given a patient hearing and assured best possible will be done for them within rules.BSF plans to settle more than 700 cases in these two days. BSF has also made elaborate arrangements for accommodation at New Delhi who have come from far flung areas to attend the event.
