Chandigarh, March 28:- Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi today organized a Face-to-Face with noted writers Sh. Ashok Vajepyi and Ms. Manjula Rana at the Auditorium, Government Museum and Art Gallery. Adviser to the UT Administrator, Mr. Pradip Mehra was the chief guest at the first session. He released a book titled ‘Chandigarh Chapbook Poetry-2010 on the occasion. The book is a collection of poems by the writers of Chandigarh.

While addressing the august gathering Mr. Mehra said that Chandigarh should be throbbing with cultural life. UT Administration is making all efforts to augment the existing cultural infrastructure in conjunction with developing more of them. The new revived and renovated Tagore Theatre has become the center of cultural activities. The other side of cultural life is the works by people like Ms. Neelam Mann Singh. The contribution by such renowned people, Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi, Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi and Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi has enriched the cultural tapestry of the city and in turn the people of Chandigarh are also enriched in the process, added Adviser.

Mr. Mehra averred that the Administration is planning to revive the Museum so that, the people of Chandigarh visiting it and people from outside not just increases the footfall rather come and see the vast stretch of the Indian History. The Administration has pains-takingly acquired priceless paintings and that should be exposed and brought in public domain, so that the magnificent work could be appreciated and admired.
