Mumbai : The announcement of ‘Stree 2’ has generated much excitement among fans since the release of the first film, which became a blockbuster hit. Rajkumar Rao, who plays a pivotal role in the movie, took to Instagram to share a thrilling motion poster of ‘Stree 2’. The poster hints at the return of terror in Chanderi and promises to give the audience goosebumps. In the caption, Rajkumar Rao confirmed that the filming has begun and revealed that the movie is slated to release in August 2024.
Unlike the previous film where the haunting message ‘O Stree Kal Aana’ (O Woman, Come Tomorrow) was seen outside every house in Chanderi, the motion poster showcases a change with ‘O Stree Raksha Karna’ (O Woman, Protect Us). This indicates that the sequel will bring a new kind of fear with the presence of Sarkate, possibly a different entity causing havoc in the town.
The first glimpse of the shooting was shared by Rajkumar Rao a few days ago, featuring himself and Shraddha Kapoor. In the photo, they were seen capturing a selfie while placing a finger on their lips, symbolizing secrecy. Shraddha looked beautiful in a pink suit and a no-makeup look, while Rajkumar appeared dashing in a black shirt. Alongside the picture, Rajkumar captioned, “What will happen when men and women meet again.”
Fans of the original ‘Stree’ can currently enjoy the film on the streaming platform Netflix. Released in 2018, the horror-comedy captivated audiences with its intriguing storyline, stellar performances from Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi.
