Bangalore – : The difficulties of many big Congress leaders including former Congress President Rahul Gandhi have increased. In fact, the BJP has filed a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi, CM Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee in the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court.

This court, which hears cases related to former and current MPs and MLAs, took cognizance of the offense under sections 499 (defamation) and 500 (punishment for defamation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and fixed July 27 for hearing the matter. date has been set. The special court directed to issue summons to all the respondents in this regard. The private complaint was filed on May 9 by BJP state secretary S Keshav Prasad alleging that the party was maligned by making false claims in advertisements.

According to the complaint, the KPCC, in an advertisement published in leading newspapers on May 5 ahead of the Karnataka assembly elections, claimed that the then BJP government in the state was “indulging in corruption and looted Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the last four years”. According to the complaint, the claims made by the KPCC in the advertisement were “completely baseless, prejudiced and defamatory”.
