The BJP has started planning for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Under this, different programs are being prepared, so that they can be informed about the good initiatives of the government by reaching the public. Along with this, the plan is going on against the opposition as well. In this series, BJP will now run a campaign in Uttar Pradesh to make young voters aware about the emergency declared by Indira Gandhi.

The campaign will be launched on the anniversary of the Emergency. From June 25, the UP BJP team will start reaching out to the youth. A party functionary told media that on June 25, a special program would be organized for those who were born after the Emergency. They don’t know the kind of suffering the country went through during the Emergency imposed by the Congress. The youth will be told how Congress destroyed democracy by imposing emergency. The intellectual class of the society will also be invited in these events.

However, in the past, the BJP honored democracy fighters imprisoned during the Emergency on June 25 as political prisoners. This time the focus will be on making young voters aware. The event will be a part of UP BJP’s month-long Mahasampark campaign, which will begin on May 30 to mark the completion of nine years of the Modi government.

The party has planned similar outreach in other parts of the country as well. On the eve of the launch of Mahasampark Abhiyan from Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri are addressing the media in Lucknow on the achievements of nine years of the Modi government. During the month-long campaign, the BJP will run another programme, called observation of Vikastirtha.

Under the programme, BJP leaders and workers will take people and media persons to the sites of major projects developed by the central or state government. Local MPs, MLAs and party leaders from the local district unit will also visit the sites. Also, in each of the state’s 80 Lok Sabha constituencies, the party will make a list of 250 local prominent families, including Padma awardees, sportspersons, actors, doctors, former judges and martyrs. Thereafter, senior party leaders will visit the homes of these prominent families and seek their support for the BJP. The party will also hold a meeting with traders.
