BJP has announced candidates for 112 seats out of 182 for the Gujarat Assembly elections. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will contest from Ghatlodiya seat. While cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife has been given ticket from Jamnagar North. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi will contest from Majura seat. Hardik Patel will contest from Viramgam seat. This was announced at a press conference held at the party headquarters in Delhi. The list was finalized in the BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a formal announcement was pending.

These three veterans will not contest the Gujarat elections

Earlier, 4 big leaders of Gujarat BJP announced that they will not contest the assembly elections. These are – Former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Former Deputy CM Nitin Patel, Bhupendra Singh Chudasama and Pradeep Singh Jadeja. Bhupinder Singh Chudasama and Pradeep Singh Jadeja were earlier ministers in Rupani’s cabinet. Rupani, the sitting MLA, who was chief minister from August 2016 to September 2021, told reporters in Rajkot, “I have decided not to contest this time.” PLC/GT
