Scrutiny and competitor trials will begin on Friday for the 5th edition of OYA Autocross, Motocross and Offroad Challenge. The event is being organized from December 20 to 22 on the biggest track in north India.
OYA Autocross, Motocross and Offroad Challenge are being organized by Old Yadvindrians Association and Team Chandigarh Adventure Sports (TCAS) on the GMADA ground opposite PUDA office, Phase 8, Mohali.
President OYA Dr Sandeep Bansal said that the event has a heavy rush of entries. There were 70 standard spots for the Motocross (Bikers category). All have been filled. The 10 premium entries in this category will close soon.
Of the total 60 spots available for Autocross (Cars and SUVs category), 55 have been filled. Entries have closed for Uncaged Offroad Challenge. All the 25 spots have been filled.
SSP Mohali Mr Inder Mohan Singh Bhatti will inaugurate the event and also give away the prizes.
Patron OYA and Founder TCAS Mr Gulpreet Aulakh said that the event is going to be a mega motorsport carnival. Mr Aulakh added that OYA Autocross and Motocross will have the biggest and most technical track in the whole of north India. “The track for the event measures 2.5 kms. This is the only twin dirt track of the country, and the only Autocross and Motocross track to have a bridge,” said Mr Aulakh.
Traditionally, only trophies are given to the winners of Autocross and Motocross. For the first time, prizes will also be given to winners by Blaupunkt, Hankook and BG Racing.
