Bhupinder Singh Hooda received the award from the Prime Minister.

Zakir Hussein INVC,, Delhi,, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh presented an award of Rs.50 lakh to Haryana State at a function in New Delhi today where Panchayati Raj Institutions were honoured for doing commendable work.Haryana Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda received the award from the Prime Minister. These awards were given by Union Panchayati Raj Ministry on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Diwas, under Panchayat Empowerment and Accountability Incentive Scheme. On this occasion, UPA Chairperson, Mrs Sonia Gandhi  and Chief Parliamentary Secretary,Development and Panchayat Department,Haryana, Mr Dharambir Singh, were also present. Union Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Mr Vilasrao Deshmukh gave away Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar  of Rs.10 lakh to the Gram Panchayat of Asan Village in district Rohtak, which was received by  village Sarpanch Mr.Raj Singh. Former Union Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar gave away a prize of Rs.15,000 to Kumari Medhavi Saini of village Nasibpur,Ateli Nangal Block in district  Mahendergarh for winning Essay/Painting competition.
