Bhed Palak Samridhi Yojna had been implemented in the State to benefit the shepherd : Prof. Dhumal

Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal said here today that Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India has sanctioned Rs. 1.07 crore to HIMURJA for distributing 4337 solar lanterns for sheep and goat rearers in remote and tribal areas of the State. This follows the request made by the State Government.

Chief Minister said that State Government was committed for the welfare of tribals in the State. He said that Bhed Palak Samridhi Yojna had been implemented in the State to benefit the shepherd. He said they were being given 33 percent subsidy upto the loans of Rs. one lakh being given to them for purchase of lamb and sheep.

Chief Minister said that nine percent of the total budget of the State was being spent under Tribal Sub Plan so as to accelerate the pace of development in these areas.
