New Delhi  : After the gathering of opposition parties in Bengaluru, a series of mishaps has ensued regarding the use of the name “India.” Merely a day after announcing the name ‘India’ for their alliance, the opposition parties have selected the tagline ‘Jeetega Bharat’ for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Himanta Biswa Sarma Removes “India” from His Twitter Bio

In a noteworthy move, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has opted to remove the word ‘India’ from his Twitter bio. In a taunting remark, CM Sarma stated that our country was named “India” by the British, and we ought to liberate ourselves from this colonial legacy. Instead of “India,” he used the phrase ‘BJP for India’ to emphasize his commitment to the nation. The Chief Minister tweeted, “The British named our country India; however, we must strive to emancipate ourselves from the shackles of colonialism. Our forefathers fought for India, and we shall continue to work tirelessly for its progress.” Notably, his earlier Twitter bio read, “Chief Minister of Assam, India.”

This change came about following a meeting of 26 opposition parties where the leaders collectively prepared the acronym I.N.D.I.A., signifying: I- Indian, N- National, D- Developmental, I- Inclusive, A- Alliance.

Reinforcing the Significance of India

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma further emphasized the importance of India and its core values. He advocated the need to break free from the colonial legacies and work diligently for the betterment of India. His act of removing “India” from his Twitter bio has sparked discussions not only about the country’s identity but also about initiatives like Make in India and Startup India.

As the 2024 Lok Sabha elections draw near, the battle between India and India becomes a focal point in the political landscape. The opposition’s chosen name and tagline “Jeetega Bharat” signify their determination to win the elections and steer the nation towards progress and inclusivity.

The Battle for India’s Future

With the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the contest between two versions of India takes center stage. The opposition’s united front and the carefully crafted acronym I.N.D.I.A. represent their vision of an India that is Indian, National, Developmental, and Inclusive, bound together in an alliance dedicated to the country’s welfare.

On the other hand, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s actions reflect the sentiment of breaking away from the British-imposed identity, reclaiming the essence of India, and aligning it with the BJP’s vision for the nation’s progress.

Conclusion

The 2024 Lok Sabha elections are gearing up to be a fierce battle, not only between political parties but also for defining India’s identity and future. As the opposition rallies under the banner of I.N.D.I.A., and the ruling party emphasizes its commitment to India’s development, the voters hold the key to the country’s destiny. The contest between India and India will determine the path the nation treads in the coming years – one that upholds its heritage, values, and inclusivity or one that strives to redefine itself on its own terms. It is a momentous occasion where citizens must make a choice that shapes India’s course for generations to come.
