Bharat Jodo Yatra takes Diwali break – will resume in Telangana on the morning of 27 October

The Bharat Jodo Yatra of Congress, led by former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, will be on Diwali holiday from October 24 to October 26 and will resume on October 27. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said in a tweet- Bharat Jodo Yatra will take a holiday on 24th and 25th October for Diwali and 26th October to present election certificates to Mallikarjun Kharge-ji. The yatra will resume in Telangana on the morning of 27 October.

Earlier on Thursday- the 43rd day of the visit, Rahul Gandhi interacted with four different groups at Mugatti in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. He reiterated Congress’s opposition to the sale of the Vizag Steel Plant and its steadfast commitment to a strong and strategic public sector.

In another tweet, Ramesh said: The 43rd day of the India Jodo Yatra was long, hot, but very fruitful. The yatra started early in the morning with an enthusiastic crowd in Kurnool district. Along with the journey throughout the day, the crowd of people went on. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi had many positive conversations. On his way to Mantralaya, he also visited a cotton field.

At the same time, during his conversation, Rahul Gandhi also said that his party is against the privatization of LIC which has served India well. He expressed surprise that higher GST was being levied for insurance products especially for health. He gave full support to the long pending demands of the insurance agents. PLC/GT
