Baikunth Chaturdashi is celebrated a day before Kartik Purnima. According to Hindu calendar, Chaturdashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month has special significance. This is called Baikuntha Chaturdashi. The Chaturdashi of Shukla Paksha during the month of Kartik is considered holy for the devotees of Lord Vishnu as well as Lord Shiva as both Sri Hari Vishnu and Lord Shankar are worshiped on the day of Baikuntha Chaturdashi.

 

It is believed that by worshiping Lord Vishnu on this day, the seeker attains Baikunth Dham and gets rid of sins by the grace of Shiva. Most of the temples in Varanasi celebrate Vaikuntha Chaturdashi and it comes a day before another important ritual of Dev Diwali. Apart from Varanasi, Vaikuntha Chaturdashi is also celebrated in Rishikesh, Gaya and many cities of Maharashtra. Chaturdashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month ends: 7th November 2022, Monday at 4:15 pm
According to the scriptures, Lord Vishnu is worshiped on Baikunth Chaturdashi during Nishita period, hence Baikunth Chaturdashi will be celebrated on 6th November.

Significance of Baikuntha Chaturdashi
The day of Baikuntha Chaturdashi is considered very important. This day is special because both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva are worshiped on this day. According to Shiva Purana, on the day of Baikunth Chaturdashi, Lord Shiva gave Sudarshan Chakra to Lord Vishnu. According to religious belief, if a devotee worships Lord Vishnu on this day with 1000 lotus flowers, then he gets a place in Baikunth Dham.

Worship method of Baikuntha Chaturdashi
On the day of Chaturdashi, take a vow of fasting in the morning after retiring from bath etc.
After this worship Shri Hari Vishnu with 108 lotus flowers.
Now worship Lord Shankar also compulsorily.
Chant the names of Vishnu and Shiva throughout this day.
