Akshay Kumar’s ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ is proving to be a flop at the box office. Alam is that theater owners have to cancel many shows because people are not coming to see this film. With some difficulty, this film has come close to earning 65 crores.
For Emperor Prithviraj, made at a cost of more than 250 crores, this earning is like cumin in the mouth of a camel. Yash Raj Films has decided that this film will now be dropped on OTT only after 4 weeks of its theatrical release. This ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ will be streamed on Amazon Prime only after 4 weeks. Yash Raj Films has placed an open-ended contract for its entire 2022 slate, with prices for 4 weeks and 8 weeks.
The logic behind this is that if a film does well in the cinema, then its OTT release date will be kept after 8 weeks. On the other hand, if the film fails at the box office, then it will be released on OTT only after 4 weeks. PLC/GT
